Recycling plastic
Plastic recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste plastic and reprocessing the material into useful products. Most of the world´s plastic arent biodegradable, which means that they can´t be decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms. The majority of plastics are recyclable, but the process isn´t easy and it´s also very difficult.
Types of recycling
Chemical recycling
Plastic waste will be transformed into a raw material using thermochemical processes. The raw material can be fed into the Verbund to create new chemical products with excellent product performance based on recycled plastic waste.
Mehcanical recycling
This process consists on making new products from plastics granules.
- Separation and crushing depending on their type.
- Floating Wash & Dry them (centrifugal force)
- Agglutination Compact & Mix with other materials
- Extrusion Melt & extrude it into long filamMents
- Pelletising Reduce the filaments to pellets (granules)
Plastics are incinerated to obtain energy forheating or producing electricity.
